International Working Experience

3 students in the 4th and 1 student in the 5th year spent 3 weeks of their summer vacation in New Zealand.  Did they enjoy nature activities? NO! They had working experiences in Centre of Industrial Collaboration in our partnership school. Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin.

This international internship program started last year.  Last year, 3 students had successful working experiences at ESCEA, a manufacture that produces gas fired appliances.  They spent 2 weeks, integrating workers to do some projects of interactive web based trouble-shooting pages.

In this year, they did some projects for local industries in Otago Polytechnic Centre of Industrial Collaboration.  At the first day, Professor John Findlay, head of school of Architecture, Building and Engineering had just assigned some tasks and they had had to think how to manage the job by themselves.  They normally work following teachers instruction so it was very good opportunity to experience project management.

They also lived in an apartment by themselves. It was also good experience for them to become independent.

This program could have never done without strong support from Otago Polytechnic, especially Professor John Findlay.  Thank you so much for your strong support.
