5-Year Collaborative Learning in Engineering and English with Faculty Development
5-Year Collaborative Learning in Engineering and English with Faculty Development
- Developing and Implementating of Practical Engineering Education for a global world -
In the field of education, programs with the purpose of cultivating skilled professionals for a globalized world are constantly evolving. Technical colleges and university engineering departments are making efforts to enrich their English language programs through the introduction of study-abroad programs into the curricula.
Many people recognize that study-abroad is effective; however, students' ability to participate in study-abroad programs is highly dependant on their financial situation. In order to give all students the opportunity acquire, local engineering programs are emphasized the necessary skills for being successful in global industry.
The purpose of this program is to develop young engineers who can play an important role in a global society by providing the appropriate educational experiences beginning with the first year of high school.
Faculty development between native-English faculty members and native Japanese faculty members promotes cultural exchange between the two groups. Teachers from both groups learn the engineering education culture of their counterparts. Having a mutual understanding of these foreign cultures, both groups are able to work together and improve the CLE² program.
